Following the chaotic last-gen debacle of Cyberpunk 2077's performance on Xbox One and PS4, many were wondering if 343 Industries would axe its Xbox One version of Halo: Infinite. 343 Industries took a moment to assuage those worries, assuring fans that Halo: Infinite, despite its delay for polish, will be ready to roll on both generations simultaneously.

Instead of a lengthy blog post, the confirmation that it is not canceled comes from a cheeky Twitter reply when one fan asked 343 Industries Community Manager John Junyszek if there was any truth to the cancelation rumors. His reply? "Nope, please let me enjoy the holidays" accompanied by silly emoji:

His response was met with mixed reception with some gamers being glad to hear that the flagship franchise will be more available to those that couldn't (or had no interest in) scoring an Xbox Series X or S, while others were pleading with the team to scrap last-gen versions to purely focus on the future of the franchise.

I was one of the few that seemed to be genuinely impressed with the gameplay shown earlier this year of Halo: Infinite. I understand, of course, why people were concerned about it, but for me it wasn't a "downgraded" look because of graphics or limitations, to me it genuinely came off as an art choice. The aesthetics shown off felt genuinely Halo and as a massive (bordering obsessive) Halo fan, the Reach vibes felt gave me chills. Plus, Craig the Brute was a gem and I'll protect him with my life (until I have to shoot him).

Regardless of where you stand on the previously revealed gameplay for the upcoming Halo, it looks like we can all rest easy that the team is giving itself more than enough time to make sure its perfect with its late 2021 launch. Do you agree with those saying to scrap it and focus on the new generation of systems, or are you happy to see it be available for all? Sound off with your thoughts in the comment section below!
